Woot woot! I'm so excited! This is my very first blog post about my random creations! I made these Philly Cheese Steak Pockets (I struggled a little when coming up with the name.. we went through "Philly Rock," "Philly Bao," "Philly Flap," I think I'll call it the "Philly Cheese Steak Pockets" for now.) for my friend Allen's birthday.
Here's how I made them:
I have 2 home style biscuits, 1 onion, 2 bell peppers, 1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese, some sliced provolone cheese, 2lbs of sliced ribeye
(yes, there are 2 onions in the picture, but I only used 1)
cut the ribeye into little pieces, cook it with salt, pepper, and a table spoon of honey
saute the onion until it's caramelized
also cook the bell peppers
mix the steak, onion, bell pepper, and the shredded cheese together
split the biscuit dough into two smaller balls, roll it out, make sure the center is thicker than the edges
place a quarter of the sliced provolone cheese in the center, then a spoonful of the steak mixture
gather the edges, flip it over, hide the seam underneath
bake the entire sheet for 25 minutes at 350°F, and viola!
